Last May, we went to this beach resort somewhere in Batangas, Philippines. It's not the first time my son went to the beach and as his usual self, he was really looking forward to that trip. Because anything that will make the entire family get together and going somewhere is something that he is really looking forward to. So we got to this resort, it was nice, you can feel the summer vibes with the humidity and great view of the sea. The food was served buffet style, 3x for an overnight stay, first meal was for lunch. We had our designated table and started eating while waiting for our room to be ready. There was a right amount of variety of food available like the usual dory fish, lechon kawali, soup of the day and sweets. Was not able to take picture of the entire setup except for the sweets section :)

At night, we were served almost same food for dinner and we had to hurry up as we almost missed the cut-off. Come morning, my mom and son went ahead first for breakfast as my husband and I attended on our baby. When we arrived in the dining pavillion, to my surprise my son was eating cereal instead of rice. And yes it's a surprise because my son doesn't like sweet stuff that much, he won't even drink juice or eat candy. Since he was a baby, my son easily gets tonsillitis whenever he eats too much champorado (sweet chocolate rice porridge) or an iced chocolate drink. Maybe because of our repeated reminder as well as his vanity of getting "sirang ngipin" (rotten teeth) that he is not really fond of eating them. Even if he does, he knows when to stop, he never gets addicted. Going back to the story, so yeah was surprised that he was eating it willingly, I gave him cereals before but he never liked them. Since my boy is a bit skinny, we planned on giving him more carbs as much as possible to help him gain weight. By the time we get home, he already requested that we buy him cereal when we get to the grocery and his preference is the Kellog's Froot Loops. Maybe because it's colorful but when I tried it myself, it actually tasted nice. It didn't taste artificial or soggy with the milk. For my cereal, I tend to pick the corn flakes type so it was good to break my misconception on colorful "junkfood-looking" cereals. I actually kinda like them more now than the corn flakes and now my son got to share his cereals with me haha!
